Subway is freshening up its decor in a way that draws attention to its fresh vegetables.

The sandwich chain has announced its rolling out a new interior design called Subway Fresh Forward. Features include a new color palette “inspired by fresh vegetables” and a new logo called the Choice Mark that turns the Subway “S” into two arrows.

According to a news release, the dine-in experience will include such Starbucks-like touches as “playful decor, curated music, comfortable seating with USB charging ports and complimentary Wi-Fi.”

More importantly, Subway is adding self-serve kiosks with “separate food preparation area and a designated pre-order pick-up location for kiosk, mobile app, delivery, catering and bot for Messenger orders.”

Kiosk service will only be offered at “select” sites, which makes sense because Subway has more than 44,800 franchised locations around the globe.

The redesign will including uniforms, packaging and signage, according to a press release. And there will be new menu items as well.

Subway says some of the elements of the redesign will be in stores by the end of the year. Twelve pilot locations are open, the closest in Chula Vista.
